Psychedelic Assisted Therapy

Information about psychedelic-assisted therapy:

Numerous individuals are inquiring about the clinical application of psychedelics in conjunction with therapy for mental well-being. Currently, the option of psychedelic-assisted therapy is not readily accessible. Despite legal changes taking place from July 1st, 2023, which will eventually allow MDMA-assisted therapy for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder unresponsive to alternative treatments, and psilocybin-assisted therapy for individuals with treatment resistant depression, these programs are not yet operational.

Initially, the treatment will incur significant expenses due to the implementation of safety precautions and the involvement of numerous professionals and facilities. Some experts are predicting that the cost of treatment may exceed $20,000.

If you are interested in pursuing this treatment, it is essential to locate a psychiatrist who is willing to take the lead, as they are required to submit an application to become an authorized prescriber. While I may be part of a team involved in psychedelic-assisted therapy, as a therapist, I do not have the authority to submit such an application.

Although clinical therapy involving psychedelics is not readily available to the majority, there are still individuals who opt to utilize these substances independently. I do not endorse or promote the use of psychedelics outside of legal environments. Furthermore, I do not direct individuals to seek assistance from "underground" therapists.

For those who have already chosen to embark on this journey, I can offer guidance focused on safety and minimizing harm. I am available to help individuals integrate their experiences and to aid in thoughtful consideration of preparation, suitability, and strategies for harm reduction.
